Q: What do you get when you combine 53m of security enclosure, 3 racking systems, 3 gates and a team working 13m above ground?
A: A project that's right in Hampden's wheelhouse.
While Hampden teams were busy delivering perimeter security around a new Wiri distribution facility, the more interesting challenge was unfolding inside the warehouse.
Our client required a fully enclosed security cage around a high-value storage area, spanning approximately 53 metres in length, 13 metres in height, and integrating through three separate racking systems. The enclosure also required a secure roof and three access gates, all while maintaining the functionality of the warehouse environment.
At its core, the solution is based on a relatively simple product - Chainlink. The challenge lay in adapting a simple solution to a highly constrained and operationally complex environment, and doing so at significant scale.
Working closely with the client's design team, Hampden developed a solution that not only secures the perimeter of the storage area but also weaves through the warehouse infrastructure itself, creating a single, fully enclosed secure environment.
What we love about this example is solving problems where there's no obvious answer, collaborating with clients, and developing practical solutions for complex environments.
While we've solved some of the project's tallest challenges, there are still a few more to come. We'll share another update as the enclosure progresses, along with some completed works photos.
